Our goal at the Painesville Police Department is to be as professional as possible. Whether you have a complaint against an officer or would like to compliment the team, your feedback helps make us a better police department.
Complaints against an officer are taken very seriously and we strive to complete a thorough investigation of allegations of any misconduct. Once the investigation is complete, the complaint is forwarded to the Chief of Police, or his/her designee, who will make a determination of action. For complaints, please fill out the attached Citizen Complaint Form and deliver to the Police Department at 28 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. There, a staff member will sign the acknowledgement page of the form to confirm receipt.
Compliments are shared with the officers' supervisors and help us gage what we are doing right and encourage that behavior. For compliments, please fill out the below form online.
