The mission of the Fire Prevention Bureau of PCFD is to “reduce the incidents of fire through code enforcement and inspections.” The goal of this office is to inspect every educational, institutional and place of assembly occupancy annually (every year) and to inspect businesses tri-annually (every three years).
Fire inspections are conducted to discover and correct any condition likely to cause a fire or safety issue. We inspect everything from how materials are being stored, maintenance of exits, accessibility to fire personnel, maintenance of sprinkler system or fire detection systems and general housekeeping.
The Fire Prevention Bureau is staffed by one part-time Fire Safety Inspector, Terry G. Sopko, who is available at 440-392-5850 or [email protected].
